This is one of our monthly projects. The goal was to make up a podcast we would like to create, and write a spot promoting the podcast. I've always had a love for indie rock music, so I chose to create a podcast that I could actually enjoy doing, called The Unknown Radio. Thanks to Jessica Munday from the Acting department and Todd Hancock from CFOX for helping voice this spot.

Voiced: Jessica Munday, Todd Hancock, Kyle Dyck. Written and produced: Kyle Dyck.

Traditionally we are given a client and write a spot for that client, then someone else produces it, and vice versa. In this case, I enjoyed writing this spot so much my instructor encouraged me to produce this one as well. After testing a couple voices for the announcer, I found one that worked perfectly, giving this spot some much needed "tension". Thanks to Fernanda Fukamati from the Acting department for helping voice this spot.

Voiced: Fernanda Fukamati, Ally Macfarlane, Ashley Sloan, Kyle Dyck. Written and produced: Kyle Dyck.

My first thought when looking at this script was "Meh, this one doesn't look like any fun." but after thoroughly looking into it, and having a few voice test-runs, I was wrong. It was quite a bit of fun having some of the other students do their own take on the voices, and bringing each piece together was better than I thought. Bring on more production!

One of my favorite spots to produce. Thanks to Xochitl Ramirez from the Acting department for lending me her Spanish accent.

Here is another monthly project. Our challenge was to create a radio play no longer than three minutes. I thought I would pull on some of my personal experience and create a different perspective on a relationship. It was entertaining tossing around the concept, putting it into script form, then bringing it to life. *Disclaimer: This story is FICTION. :)
